Lymphoedema Ireland was represented at the National Conference for Cancer Survivorship conference in the Aviva Stadium on 19 and 20 September, 2014.
On Saturday the 20th September there was a dedicated workshop in "Living Well with Lymphoedema". The session was facilitated by our Chairperson Nina Murray. The key speakers were:
Ms Norah Kyne, Physiotherapy Manager, University Hospital Galway
Dr Vaughan Keeley, Consultant in Palliative Medicine, Derby Hospitals, UK
The topics included: Incidence of lymphoedema following treatment for cancer, what are the influencing factors? therapeutic management of lymphoedema, self-management of lymphoedema
This was the first time that lymphoedema has featured as part of the conference schedule and the session was really well attended. Copies of the presenters slides are available below (click on the link to download):
